Without doubt, leaving the Armed Forces can be a daunting prospect. Your time in the Service will have given you a wealth of skills and experiences that people in civilian life just can’t match – attitude, team spirit and the ability to deliver with limited resources.
There’s no denying being ex-military is going to make you stand out from the rest as different.
Whether this difference is viewed positively depends on you having the ‘work-ready’ skills and confidence to complement your military training. These skills are in demand and are exactly what logistics employers need.
FREE EX-MILITARY TRAINEESHIPS AVAILABLE
The team at Skills for Logistics, Future Horizons, Career Transition Partnerships, Job Centre Plus and leading logistics employers have developed a short, practical Traineeship Programme that will provide the functional skills needed to step out of the Service and into either a logistics apprenticeship or a full-time logistics career.
The duration of the programme is a minimum of 6 weeks to a maximum of 10 weeks depending on the nature of the traineeship and is supported by leading UK logistics employers.
The traineeship programme is open to anyone who has left the military, aged between 16 and 24 years, is unemployed and a resident in the East Midlands. For more information on this Pilot, please click here.
