The DRD's aim is to improve the quality of life for everyone in Northern Ireland by maintaining and enhancing a range of essential infrastructure services and by shaping the region's long-term strategic development.
The DETI is responsible for economic policy development, energy, tourism, mineral development, health and safety at work, Companies Registry, Insolvency Service, consumer affairs and labour market and economic statistics services. It also has a role in ensuring the provision of the infrastructure for a modern economy. Economics, financial and personnel management services are provided centrally within the Department.
NISRA is Northern Ireland's official statistics organisation.
Careers Service NI employs a network of Careers Advisers based in Careers Offices, Jobcentres and Jobs and Benefit Offices throughout N.Ireland. Most of their work is carried out in schools dealing with young people who are making choices regarding education, training or employment.
