Training Information

Skills for Logistics now provides a wider range of apprentice training opportunities to younger people entering the industry than ever before. These aim to offer young people real choices in jobs with training rather than the school or college option that is more commonly known to young adults, parents and their advisors.

Apprenticeships have traditionally provided the ideal method for bringing young people into many industries. We can now build on this tradition to enable employers to offer reliable training linked to recognised national qualifications across their business whatever part of the freight transport sector they operate within.

Apprentices gain their initial experience and qualifications by driving, working in the warehouse or in the office. With the right motivation and ability apprentices can go on to achieve a level three NVQ/SVQ that is recognised as equivalent to two good A levels or three good higher grades.
