The aim of this project was to review and rationalise existing national occupational standards – Distribution, Warehousing, and Storage Operations; and Storage and Warehousing – to create a single standards and qualifications structure.
The Warehousing and Storage standards are a completely new set of standards based on the merger of existing units where possible.
The units of national occupational standards have been designed for use in NVQs and SVQs at levels 1 and 2, with two units at level 3 which will provide progression to Logistics Operations Management at level 3.
Qualifications, based on the new standards, are currently being developed and will be launched from Spring to Autumn 2008, onwards depending on the awarding body. Please re-visit Skills for Logistics’ Standards Development web pages for up-to-date news on qualifications, or email Hilary Simpson, Head of Qualifications, at hilary.simpson@skillsforlogistics.org.
