The Sector Qualifications Strategy (SQS) is a high level document that presents Skills for Logistics’ vision of future qualifications and learning provision to other stakeholders and partners (such as government departments and agencies, awarding bodies and learning providers) and outlines ways in which Skills for Logistics intends to work towards refining and realising that vision.
The SQS has been developed to ensure that qualifications can be used as an effective tool to help address the six key issues, identified during the development of the Sector Skills Agreement (SSA), that prevent people reaching their full potential within the logistics sector – image, diversity, basic skills, skills gaps/skills shortages, quality of training and lack of recognition by employers of the business case for training.
The SQS proposes the following specific actions to address the issues above, and support the adoption of Skills for Logistics’ Professional Development Stairway and a culture of Continuous Professional Development.
-
Develop modular qualifications
-
Promote Continuous Professional Development through the Professional Development Stairway
-
Ensure comprehensive sector coverage of national occupational standards
-

-

-

-

-

-
