The aim of this project was to produce new national occupational standards for logistics organisations involved in international trade and arranging the movement of freight. These standards have now been approved for use in qualifications.
Most of the units in International Trade and Logistics Operations are aimed at people working at administrative levels; however, two units potentially provide progression to supervisory/team-leader levels of responsibility, and are options within Logistics Operations Management N/SVQ level 3.
New qualifications based on the standards are currently being developed and will be launched in the Summer 2008.
