Driving Goods Vehicles

The national occupational standards for Driving Goods Vehicles (DGV) are currently being reviewed as part on an ongoing process to ensure their relevance and fitness for purpose.

Driving Goods Vehicles NOS form the basis of one of the most used NVQ/SVQ qualifications for lorry drivers; and it is vital that these remain up-to-date and reflect current practices in the industry.

With the current high price of fuel, the skills and knowledge of drivers have never been so important.

How you can help

If you have experience in driving – as a haulier, transport manager, or in driver development – your participation in this NOS development project is most welcome.

There are two main ways you can contribute to the project:

  • You can provide feedback on consultation documents and questionnaires (these will be provided online at this website)
  • You can disseminate information (including this website address) to anyone you feel can contribute.
