Skills for Logistics has three projects for national occupational standards (NOS) and qualifications that are in various stages of development:
- Driving Goods Vehicles NOS – new project
- Food Safety in a Logistics Environment NOS – consultation
- International Trade and Logistics Operations qualification – update
- Warehousing and Storage qualification – recently launched
- Logistics Operations Management – recently launched
The national occupational standards for Driving Goods Vehicles (DGV) are currently being reviewed as part on an ongoing process to ensure their relevance and fitness for purpose.
If you have experience in driving – as a haulier, transport manager, or in driver development – your participation in this NOS development project is vital.

EU Hygiene Regulations – which require Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles to be embedded for all organisations that handle food and drink – demand that Food Safety NOS are in place to enable enforcement of the regulations.
These standards are now ready for consultation.
