Women in Transport is a joint venture between Skills for Logistics and the FTA. It provides an annual opportunity for women working in all areas of the freight transport industries to get together, network with each other and listen to a range of inspirational speakers.
The first event took place in 2005. Some of the leading women in the industry spoke about their own career development and their own experiences in climbing the career ladder in a male dominated industry.
In 2006 the range of topics was extended to cover some interesting areas of research and an intriguing look at one man's experience of mentoring women in the industry.
The feedback received from both events has been extremely positive with plenty of ideas being put forward for the next event. Watch this space for event details in 2007.
