Businesses from across the region were given the opportunity to find out more and get involved in the Logistics Academy Yorkshire and Humber (LAYH) at a recent dinner event, held in Wakefield.
Located in the Logistics Institute at Hull University Business School, the academy was launched in 2009 as a one-stop shop employer-led partnership organisation, bringing together employers, educators, training providers and other stakeholders in logistics. Bob Clarke, managing director of Clugston Distribution and vice-chair of LAYH Employer Board, said: “We are delighted to extend our support to LAYH and look forward to working with the academy to access quality training that will satisfy the training needs across our organisation.
“We are committed to upskilling our staff through nationally accredited training and believe that our association with LAYH is a step in the right direction.”
The academy provides access to consistent quality training and skills development opportunities that are required to meet the current and future needs of the industry. LAYH encourages businesses to use the training and funding opportunities in the region.
