Many of the sectors identified by the Welsh Assembly Government as strategically important to Wales depend on a substantial capability in logistics, but the participation in training relevant to logistics seems low. More detailed information depends on the development of planning and performance measures through the Lifelong Learning Wales Record (LLWR).
This is intended to produce outcome measures which include completion rates and value for money. Our own research has not identified any specific Welsh needs in relation to logistics training.
Wales suffers many of the problems of the rest of the UK in logistics training. Accepting that the geography of Wales may dictate a more dispersed pattern of provision, it is still fragmented with question marks over quality.
