The everywoman Transport & Logistics Awards are now open for nominations. These inaugural awards aim to highlight the industry's inspirational women and celebrate their outstanding successes and achievements.
everywoman in association with Skills for Logistics aim to highlight the contributions that women are making to this filed and to encourage more women to pursue a career within the sector through this new awards programme. Role models who quash the pre-conceived idea that the industry is a place where only men can make it to the top, will act as an inspiration to others - it is time that we start celebrating the talent of women working within the UK's non-traditional sectors.
The Categories

Newcomer of the Year Award
This award goes to the woman who is currently participating, has in the last 24 months participated or is in a graduate training programme or Apprenticeship and has excelled

Commercial Driver of the Year Award
This award goes to the woman that is excelling in her role as a driver (this could include but is not limited to HGV, van or motorcycle)

The Customer Service Award
This award goes to the woman who is excelling in her role in customer service or the woman whose level of customer service exceeds expectation
This award goes to the woman that is excelling at her role within a warehousing environment

Industry Trainer of the Year Award
This award goes to an individual demonstrating best practice in training and going beyond their line of duty to develop the skills of women coming into and working in the industry

Company of the Year Award
This award goes to the company that has excelled in bringing about positive cultural changes for women within their organisation
This award will be selected by the judges and given to one enthusiastic and dedicated women whose vision, innovative approach and success make her an outstanding role model, encouraging more women to choose a career in transport and logistics.

The Deadline
Closing date for entries is Monday 31st March 2008.
A shortlist of finalists will be agreed by the judges and the successful nominees will be informed by 9th May. Entrants must ensure that they are available for the Awards ceremony on Thursday 12th June before entering the Awards. There will be one winner per category and one recipient of the Woman of the Year Award. The judges' decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into before or after the judging.

- Terry Marsh, Director of WISE
- Toni Eastwood OBE, Training & Development Director at everywoman.
The Ceremony
A glittering awards ceremony and luncheon will be held at the Marriot Hotel, Grosvenor Square on Thursday 12th June 2008.
