The National Courier Awards 2008, the premier event of the Sameday Courier Industry hosted by the Institute of Couriers, is on Tuesday 16th September at the Institue of Directors, Pall Mall.
This year's event, sponsored by Skills for Logistics, will play host to guests of up to three hundred industry individuals and corporate clientswho will enjoy another gala dinner of celebration.
Support of these annual awards recognises the professional skills of individuals and applaudes the dedication of a niche industry. Short listed nominee's will be place judged by a panel brought together from senior, highly experineced individuals of the industry. Most judges are Fellows of the Institute of Couriers and have been recognised for their dedication to the industry.
Nominations
There are four categories:-

Two wheels - a driver of a bicycle or motorbike

Four wheels - a driver of a small or transit van

Contract - an individual who is contracted to a client/customer for a period of time, for a regular contract or for a project. This can be in a job role as a driver, office staff, support services or management

Office - an individual who works within the office environment.
Each of these awards recognise the skill, apptitude, attitude towards and delivery of professional conduct within the sameday courier industry.
There is also one Corporate Award given to a company who has been proactive in their industry to raise the level of Road Safety for all users of the road. Previous winners of this award Fedex was recognised for its leadership and support towards Safety Training Academy's and this year 3 leading transport related associations are in the running for this prestigious of Safety Titles.

The Ceremony
The evening usually opened by Viscount Falkland the President of the Institute of Couriers will host the reception for VIP guests. Representatives for all major transport authorities and associations will be in attendance.
